Sumsub Joins World Economic Forum Unicorn Community to Address AI Fraud

February 12, 2026

Sumsub, the global identity verification and fraud prevention platform, has joined the World Economic Forum’s Unicorn Community, an invitation-only network of high-growth private companies valued at over $1 billion.

As part of this global group, Andrew Sever, Sumsub co-founder and CEO, will represent the company at the 2026 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, contributing to international dialogue on digital trust, artificial intelligence, and the evolving fraud landscape.

The Unicorn Community brings together select technology leaders to collaborate with policymakers, academics, and industry peers on solving systemic global challenges. Sumsub’s inclusion reflects its growing role in addressing the risks emerging from rapid digitalization and the increasing sophistication of online fraud. Through participation in the forum, the company aims to help shape practical frameworks for safer digital ecosystems worldwide.

Andrew Sever—together with his co-founders: his brothers Peter and Jacob, and solution architect Vyacheslav Zholudev—has consistently highlighted the importance of proactive collaboration as fraud techniques become more advanced and automated. Under his leadership, Sumsub has focused on developing AI-driven solutions capable of identifying and preventing complex fraud scenarios, including deepfakes, synthetic identities, and automated attack patterns. These efforts are designed to protect businesses while ensuring legitimate users can access digital services securely and efficiently.

At Davos, Sumsub will contribute to initiatives focused on three core priorities: combating AI-powered fraud at scale, expanding digital inclusion through flexible verification technologies, and supporting research into next-generation trust infrastructure. The company’s approach includes continuous user monitoring, reusable digital identities, and alternative verification methods that reduce reliance on traditional documentation.

Beyond its commercial platform, Sumsub is also investing in long-term collaboration through its AI Academic Program and partnerships with international organisations, including law enforcement and regulatory bodies. These initiatives aim to strengthen cross-border cooperation and knowledge-sharing as fraud increasingly crosses national boundaries.

By joining the World Economic Forum’s Unicorn Community, Sumsub strengthens its position as a contributor to global policy discussions while reinforcing its commitment to building secure, inclusive, and resilient digital environments in an era defined by artificial intelligence.
